Through acquisitions and organic growth, he has built the business into one of the leading publishing, consulting, and marketing firms in higher education.
Joe brings over 25 years of experience in higher education publishing and marketing. The innovative businesses he's developed have partnered with over 700 colleges, assisting them in meeting their enrollment goals. His primary focus is business development and setting the strategic direction for the Interactive and Direct Marketing divisions. Joe graduated from the University of Florida in 1996 and received his MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management in 2005.
Joe also enjoys his service to at-risk youth by serving on the executive board of National Safe Place. He loves to travel the world and enjoy meals out with his wife . . . but with two dogs and three little girls at home, that's mostly on hold–but worth the wait.
Vice President, Business Development
Matt became interested in College Admissions when he was a senior in high school and was recruited by Barbara Sams (currently a high school counselor at St. Louis Priory) to attend Westminster College (MO). While a student at Westminster, Matt was a student ambassador in the Admissions office. His senior year he did a business internship in the Admission office where his interest in college admissions was cemented. He did a research study with incoming students and parents, attended college fairs, learned the admission process and dabbled in marketing. Through his research study, he discovered the power of feedback and statistics in recruitment and marketing which lead him down the path that would be his life long career.
Upon graduation, Matt worked at The University of Tulsa as an Admission Counselor and Assistant Director of Admission. After four years he joined a higher education marketing firm. What appealed to him with this new role as a "vendor" was the opportunity to visit hundreds (eventually thousands) of college campuses and get a peek into their admission marketing. He joined Alloy Education in 2004 as the National Sales Director. He has since served as Vice President, Sales & Marketing, and is now Vice President, Business Development, responsible for overseeing the sales division while focusing on partnerships, new business development opportunities, and expanding Alloy Education internationally and into the Graduate market.
Matt spends much of his time traveling for business and pleasure in pursuit of American Airlines, Marriott, and American Express Points. Some might call it an addiction. He also enjoys spending his weekends with his partner Mike, Boxer Fritz, and horse, Luke.

When Heather is not scrutinizing new logo directions or the speed of flash banners, she helps current college students get a leg up in today's job market by volunteering for mock interviews and alumni panels with Northwestern University Career Services. Nothing gives her more pleasure than watching her little bulldog Max tear up the Lake Michigan beachfront in his fashionable lifejacket.

Martha "Marty" O'Connell's college admissions career spans three decades including posts at large and small colleges, starting with Rutgers University and ending with McDaniel College in Westminster, MD. She served McDaniel, one of the 40 colleges in the book, Colleges That Changes Lives, for sixteen years, with a final post as Vice President for Enrollment and Dean of Admissions. In July 2006 inspired by author Loren Pope, she began her role as Executive Director of the non-profit, charitable organization Colleges That Change Lives, Inc.
With a deep understanding of strategic enrollment management; Marty works with her clients to design enrollment and marketing initiatives that work. She has a keen ability to quickly understand and assess the operations of an admissions office so that she can work her clients to redesign processes and procedures that are both efficient and effective.
As a dynamic national speaker, Marty's efforts to calm the frenzy surrounding college admissions and to educate students and their parents about finding the right school for them-beyond the high stakes game of rankings and ratings-have earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues. As a first generation college student, she believes that college admission is not a competitive sport where only those admitted to big-name institutions are winners. Marty knows personally the advantages students enjoy when enrolled in colleges where individual attention is the norm, not the exception.

Ken's father instilled in him deference for education–his Dad said he would work until he had whiskers as long as his arm, if that's what it took to send him to college. Sure enough, Ken was his family's first college graduate, and it started a lifelong journey of sharing his passion for higher education.
Eighteen years of college admission work, interrupted by military service, provided Ken with a solid background of skills and understanding for marketing higher education. He has since been with Carnegie Communications (acquired by Alloy) and Alloy Education for 20 years, working with private and public colleges and universities in 10 states.
A healthy dose of family time balances his life, and other interests include church choir singing and an unflagging interest in sports and politics.
Steve is the resident direct marketing guru in Alloy's New York office. He has been involved in data marketing for over 25 years, including working for several of the earliest student data compilers.
